Below is a tool I’ve provided to help me to stay focused on who I am and what my purpose is. Try to read it daily—before you start your day. Study it, meditate on it, build upon it, Act upon it!

(By Charles B. Knight)

I am a Christian. I am a child of God, a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. By the grace of God, I have been cleansed from my former sins and stand in perfect reconciliation with God. (Romans 8:1-10).

Section 1: Renouncing Sin.

I live no longer for my own will, but for the will of God. I have renounced my former life. I will deny myself and take up my cross daily. I will not sin willfully. I will keep my heart, body and soul pure. Sin will never have a haven in my life (Romans 6:1-23).

Section 2: Spiritual Growth.

I will study and feed off the Bible daily, for it alone is the holy inspired word of God. I understand that my spiritual development is crucial, therefore, I will take responsibility in making sincere efforts to learn and grow in the knowledge and wisdom of Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 3:14-17).

Section 3: Kingdom Service.

I will devote the rest of my life serving in my Lord’s kingdom—advancing the cause of the cross. I will prioritize my life, so I will be ready in and out of season to engage in my Lord’s work. I will live and die courageously for God and His will (Philippians 1:20-21).
